Rupert Kirkwood - The Lone Kayaker
Friday 22 November 2024

Rupert Kirkwood worked as a farm vet in West Devon for thirty-three years but had to take early retirement due to injury.  He now spends as much time as possible paddling his kayak around the coast of South West England, observing and photographing the exceptional wildlife.  He has kayaked every inch of the coast of SW England, from Poole to Minehead, all 1156 miles of it.  Also 2,000 miles in Scotland, and short jaunts in Spain, USA, Mexico, Greenland, Chile and Antartica.

Rupert has clocked up 31, 00 miles so far, most of it in Devon and Cornwall, cherry-picking his favourite bits.  That's more than the circumference of the planet!  For the last five years, he had paddled far offshore, when sea conditions allow in search of whales.

The Pantaloons Indoor Theatre: The Merry Wives of Windsor
Sunday 8 September 2024, 3pm

Tickets: Adults £15 & Child (16 & under) £9 - suitable for all ages

The Pantaloons are back for another theatre performance.  Sir John Falstaff, everyone's favourite Shakespearean sleazeball, has fallen on hard times.  In order to fix his finances he plans to seduce the wives of two wealthy merchants.  But, wise to his wily ways, the ladies take the opportunity to punish Falstaff by playing a series of hilarious tricks on the nincompoop knight.

Expect silly slapstick, abundant anachronisms and memorable music nestled amongst Shakespeare's poignant poetry as the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons put their own innovative and interactive spin on this classic comedy.
